2004-2013
For almost a decade, I studied and performed with The Nigerian Talking Drum Ensemble, under the tutelage of Principal Dancer Omowale Orisayomi and her husband, Master Drummer Francis Awe.
Studying dance made me a better filmmaker. Learning a physical art form, one that moved me from mental fussiness to a deep bodily connection, pushed me out of my comfort zone into a new avenue of creative expression.
